Pieces sold

 Hi everyone.  

Inspiration - and taking time to do art - has been finally happening.  Life is getting more and more healthy.  An earlier start to my day has given me time to work regularly so that I always have new ones on the go.

At this point I have 5 new pieces on the go, at different stages of production.

King Street Gallery https://www.kingstgallery.com/  has been amazing - a place for my pieces to be seen and sold.  For the first time in my career as an artist (that sounds very strange) there is a need to make more trees.  I presently have three trees there for sale.  They are a bigger style tree - made with coarse wire.

I am looking forward to the leaves falling - to better see the shape of the trees around me!  I had some friends try to convince me of the value of autumn as a season.  May-be the camp fires and lovely walks in the woods can change my opinion of the fall season.


Piece I made for my brother in Nova Scotia.  He brought me the amethyst so I offered to put a tree on it. It is a Fukinagashi Bonsai style (windswept)

Here is a tree that has had a great voice.  It has a sad story - losing the main trunk, but because of a strong branch, the tree is thriving.  New branches are growing to fill the empty space.  Nature always does that.  It hates a void, and new life rushes in to enjoy the free space and the sun. This is a cute little tree.  I was trying a new style - and I like the effect.  It looks like it is stuck not only in the wind, but also the rain! Another new piece actually breaks the rules of Bonsai by having two branches come out at the same height on the trunk.  I've called it Life Over Death.  It sits on a fossilized rock and is continuing, persevering, growing, in spite of tragedy.  The last tree I'm going to show has been a long time in coming.  It has been like a wild beast, not wanting to look nice and tame - ready to find a new home.  It seemed happy to sit comfortably on my work-bench.  I've finally found a st

Where the tree has no name.

 Hi All.   Good to be back at tree making again.  I had a big push before the Arts-and-Crafts fund-raiser the end of April.  Here is one of the trees I most recently finished.  It is one of those pieces that looks very different depending on the view.
