Tree on a tiger-striped rock

Boy's Mountain

Hi all. Here is a piece that was originally designed and sculpted by my son, Luke.  He chose the rock and chose the style of tree he wanted to do.  I finished it and made sure it was how I wanted it to be (meeting standards of quality and beauty).  I call it "Boy's Mountain." Here are some pictures.

High Branches

Image
Hi all. Here is a tree that would normally be found in a forest - with the branches exploding once the light is found.  The tree stretches and races higher and higher until it reaches the forest canopy.  Then it branches out, hoping to soak up all the light it can get! I think this is a good metaphor for our lives.

Clinging to a Mountain's edge

Here is one of the first pieces of 2023.   This piece was inspired by those trees that have found soil in the crevices of a mountain's edge.  The difficulty in surviving at this height is matched by the breathless awe of getting a big-picture view.  Even though the world can make sense when you get a God's eye view, life on the hard, stony earth is still a difficult undertaking.  The story is epic.
