Tree Story: a Life Program

Image
Hi everyone, I want to let you know about a fun project I have been working on.  For now, I am calling it:   Tree Story: a Life Program .     This hybrid learning experience pulls together components of an academic course, life coaching, and an art workshop into one holistic program .  Here are a few benefits of taking this program:      It can help direct your personal life goals.      It can help you find your voice and use it in the world.      It can prepare you for greater life involvement.     It can empower you to grow with people different from you.     It can give you something to share with others - your story expressed in art. First , a brief overview of the history of Western Civilization will help situate ourselves in Canadian society.  This course looks at the development of civilization in the West from the Middle Ages to today so that we can understand how we got to the place we now live.     The  second part is a personalized self-study.  This takes an inventory of

King Street Gallery NOTL

Hi all. I'm glad to say that King Street Gallery has taken four more of our pieces.  Their claim is that visitors from the US have a special appreciation for my work. https://www.kingstgallery.com/    Unfortunately I haven't been able to work much in my workshop but I have been enjoying the outdoors and working to make our yard a little more sculpted. We are working on keeping a garden.  I have two bonsai trees I am working on sculpting and keeping beautiful.  I also have a garden of lupins that I am trying to make beautiful! I hope everyone has a great summer.

Hi All.   Good to be back at tree making again.  I had a big push before the Arts-and-Crafts fund-raiser the end of April.  Here is one of the trees I most recently finished.  It is one of those pieces that looks very different depending on the view.

Seat of Tenderness

Image
Hi all, Here is the finished product.  You got to see the unfinished process while I was twisting the branches.  I call this piece Seat of Tenderness.  It is a tree at a tender age - sitting comfortably and peacefully on the ruins of the past.  What is your past?  How do you sit with it?   Sounds like it doesn't fit - but I'm glad that my God has given me a happy seat in the midst of trauma. Enjoy the tree.

Next one coming - making of TAE Trees
